A bit about me
I’m Lisa Kirkbride – a graphic designer, illustrator, and surface pattern designer based in the breezy, beautiful seaside town of Whitley Bay in North East England. With the sea quite literally on my doorstep, I find daily inspiration in the waves, the wild skies, and the occasional (very chilly!) sunrise dip.
Since launching Lisa Kirkbride Designs in 2002, I’ve worked with brands big and small to create design that pops – from brand identities and brochures to packaging, social media graphics and everything in between. With a background in top design and marketing agencies, I bring strategic thinking, attention to detail and a whole lot of colour to every project.
My illustration and surface pattern work is playful, bold and brimming with personality – a mix of Scandinavian simplicity, 1950s vintage charm and graphic design precision. Whether it’s packaging for luxury candles, patterns for kidswear, or artwork that brightens up your day, I’m all about creating designs that make people smile.
My work has been licensed across the US for stationery, fabrics, home décor and gifts, and I’ve exhibited at top industry shows in New York and San Francisco. You might’ve seen my prints on everything from greeting cards and calendars to gift bags, quilting fabric and beyond!
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me curled up with a book, rummaging through vintage markets for letterpress treasures, or drooling over new art supplies (my studio’s basically a shrine to stationery!).
