Some more about me

If you’ve got this deep into my site, then you should have a good idea of who I am and what I’m about!

For the really keen beans, here’s a little more:

I live in Whitley Bay, on the North East coast, and I’m frequently inspired by the waves, the wild skies, and the sunrise. Sometimes I’ll even experience the sunrise amongst the waves, if it’s not too chilly.

I really want my work to brighten up your day. I’m all about making people smile..

Scandinavian simplicity, 1950s vintage style, and band new stationery are my bag.

As well as licensing designs to US products, I’ve exhibited at top industry shows in New York and San Francisco. I’ll always come home to the North East coast though.

When I’m not in my studio designing, you’ll find me curled up with a book, rummaging through vintage markets, or gazing longingly at the latest art supplies. I don’t think you realise just how much I love stationery! My illustration and surface pattern work is playful, bold and brimming with personality – a mix of Scandinavian simplicity, 1950s vintage charm and graphic design precision. Whether it’s packaging for luxury candles, patterns for kidswear, or artwork that brightens up your day, I’m all about creating designs that make people smile.

And a few career highlights:

Created a series of lockdown prints with with For the Love of the North that helped raise over £10,000 for the Northumbria NHS Bright Charity. The Newcastle print was even selected to be buried in a time capsule at Newcastle Cathedral.

I designed and painted a Snowman and Morph for seperate North Tyneside statue trails, as well as two Shaun the Sheep for a Northumberland trai/. and St Oswald’s Hospice. The latter Shaun raised a whopping £4,500 for the charity!

My work has been featured in Uppercase Magazine, and the Uppercase Encyclopedia of Botanica, as well as Chronicle Books’ “Oh Hell No!”. I’ve even had my work grace the cover of “Comfort, A Winter Cookbook!”

But to be honest, i just like working with interesting, energetic people and companies.
